The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), in collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and Expertise France, has organised a four-day training workshop for Neighbourhood Corps Officers on identification, rescue, report and referral of human trafficking cases.
Speaking at the event held at the Dover Hotel, Ikeja, the General Manager of the Agency, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, said the initiative is in tandem with the rebranding policy of LNSA by the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration.
While admonishing the participants to make the best use of the training programme to enhance their knowledge and learn new things, Prince Ifalade emphasised that the workshop is a step in the right direction towards achieving the Greater Lagos initiative of the State Government.
According to him, “Intelligence gathering is key to the development of any State and the Neighbourhood Safety Agency with its Corps Officers is at the forefront of ensuring the attainment of the noble objective of ensuring the security of lives and progress of Lagos State”.
The General Manager, therefore, congratulated the officers for being part of the few selected for the programme, noting that Lagos State is the first in Nigeria to benefit from such training for their cadre.
Recall that the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency was established by law in September 2016 as a community policing outfit.
