… As Agency Organises Training Programme on Basic Life Support

The General Manager, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, has charged operatives of the Agency to embrace hard work, shun all acts of indolence to attain the pinnacle of their careers and improve service delivery.

Prince Oyekan gave the charge while addressing officers at a four-day training programme on First Responders, First Aid and Basic Life Support Course organised by the Agency for Corps officers at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Safety Arena, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos.

He said the training will familiarise the law enforcement officers of LNSA with basic health and safety measures on First Aid and Basic Life Support necessary to assist victims with life-saving procedures during emergencies.

The General Manager advised Corps members to carry out their responsibilities diligently and within the ambit of the law, urging them to always display a high level of professionalism, competence and diligence because they are first responders in most cases of emergencies before the arrival of medics.

The LNSA boss counselled the participants to maximise the opportunity inherent in the training programme, stressing that the knowledge acquired will not only enhance their professional careers but also embolden them to police the community, gather useful intelligence for the Police and bridge the gap of trust between law enforcement agencies and the public.

Maintaining that law enforcement officers need basic life support knowledge in order to respond to emergencies when the need arises, Oyekan emphasised that basic life-saving knowledge is very useful during emergencies.

The lead facilitator of the course, Dr. Dayo Osholowu, disclosed that it is essential for law enforcement officers to be conversant with basic life support skills and first aid procedures, especially during emergencies.
